About Lianna's Nail Academy

Lianna Nguyen, founder, created Lianna's Nail Academy out of her love for teaching nails. She has taught nail professionals techniques over the years in her nail salon in Florence KY, Zen Nails LLC, over the past 8 years. She figured it was time for her to establish a nail-only school for future, passionate nail professionals.

Lianna Nguyen graduated from a cosmetology school in Louisville KY at the age of 16. She was taught by beauty educators who only specialized in hair and only taught nails by what the educators understood from the books. Lianna realized that many graduated nail professionals did not acquire a true learning experience from a nail educator who has been in the field. She attained her educator's license to help future nail techs. With over 15 years of nail experience and nail salon ownership, she believes she will be providing a beneficial unique element for future students in the nail industry.

Her mission is to prepare students to be prepared for state board testing and to feel confident to work in the real world. In the past, she saw a trend of many newly graduated nail professionals who weren't ready when they graduated and needed to learn more in the nail salons. She believed this situation caused many new nail professionals to lose confidence in themselves and created a higher chance of giving up on their careers.

Lianna's Nail Academy wants to take the nail profession to the next level, by showing the students proper techniques, ergonomics, understanding of product use, and proper sanitation. The Academy also wants to set our students up for success by showing them tips on how to manage their future businesses.

In the year 2023, Lianna also advocated for the nail industry at the state level in legislation and helped establish a new law signed by the governor to help Kentucky nail technicians. On February 1, 2024, she was appointed by the governor as one of the board members of The Kentucky State Board of Cosmetology to represent private beauty schools in Kentucky. She was the first Asian American woman to become a board member at The Kentucky State Board of Cosmetology. Besides the nail industry, Lianna hopes to help other sectors in the beauty industry to establish a successful path in the state of Kentucky.

We hope to make a difference in our student's lives for years to come.
